Another year, another chance to celebrate this year's April 20 the classic way, by satiating the munchies. Austin is prepared for an exciting holiday in the form of festive food and drinks so whether you want to be loud and proud about your love for 4/20 or just dip your toes in, this city has a little something for everyone.
Here are just a few of the eateries catering to add to your pot of places to visit.
Burro Grilled Cheese Kitchen
Who doesn't crave a classic grilled cheese sandwich when they've got the munchies? Burro Grilled Cheese Kitchen serves up the gourmet comfort food of your dreams, from the "Burning Mac," a mac-and-cheese stuffed grilled cheese, to the "Long Tall Texan," with brisket and pineapple sauce. But nothing beats the "Walyon & Willie." Named for Austin's most famous stoner, Willie Nelson, and his shared album with Waylon Jennings, this onion, pepperoncini and maple bacon sandwich is the perfect way to honor Austin on 4/20.
Cheba Hut
Bringing all things 4/20 to one place, Cheba Hut "Toasted" Subs, unabashedly known for its marijuana-themed drinks and subs, is selling its signature "nugs" and "Liquid Marijuana" cocktails and shots for $4.20 each on April 20. Come for the grub but stay for the vendors that are coming into the shop to give out free goodies!
Flamingo Hemp
If you would rather spend the day with THC's milder cousin, CBD, Flamingo Hemp makes CBD-infused baked goods, coffees, tonics and even sells hemp flower by itself. You can have a chill 4/20 without getting too chill, if you catch my drift.
Insomnia Cookies
Satisfying your sweet tooth, Insomnia Cookies started its 4/20 snack prep with a new cosmic-esque brownie, with chocolate cookie butter and rainbow sprinkles. That isn't all though—Insomnia plans to unveil a special sweet in honor of the holiday.
Kinda Tropical
If it's a little too difficult for you to celebrate on a Tuesday, head to Kinda Tropical this Saturday or Sunday for brunch. The CBD Waffle, made with Kinda Tropical tincture and served with maple syrup, is just as fancy as the iron it is made in. With an extensive drink selection and a menu fit for people with any kind of dietary needs, this restaurant is making 4/20 an inclusive one.
Prohibition Creamery
Cross your interests by celebrating with a boozy, creamy creation—this cheeky creamery sells ice cream fit for those 21 and older. Of the nine rotating flavors including Prickly Pear Mezcal and Whiskey Chocolate, Prohibition Creamery is currently offering two CBD-infused flavors: Black Magic, which is charcoal and CBD flavored, and Afternoon Delight. Don't forget to enjoy the cocktail menu while you're there!
Voodoo Doughnuts
While Voodoo's famous Maple Blazer Blunt donut is available year-round, the deliciously elaborate confections chain is doing something a little off the beaten path in celebration of April 20 this year: the Ramen Bowl donut. The 4/20-inspired ring donut is glazed with soy sauce, topped with crushed ramen noodles, dried chives and generously drizzled with Sriracha. According to its Instagram, this wacky pastry is sweet, savory and perfect for taking care of your munchies.

(Austin FC)
Austin FC head coach Josh Wolff is here to stay as the Club announced he signed a three-year contract extension.
Wolff, who was previously an assistant coach for the U.S. Men's National Team, will coach Austin FC through the end of 2025 under the new contract.
Wolff has been the Austin FC head coach since November 2019. In the team's first year, some hoped to oust Wolff as the team was at the bottom of the Western Conference. But this year, the team is at the top, ranking No. 3.
“This is still a young, growing Club but seeing our vision for Austin FC come to life on and off the field has been one of the great honors of my career. My staff and I will keep working every day to represent the city, and to develop our team both competitively and as human beings. The best is yet to come," Wolff said.

Austin police are investigating the killing of Moriah "Mo" Wilson after she was found with gunshot wounds inside an East Austin home.
Wilson, a gravel and mountain bike racer, was visiting Austin from Colorado in preparation for the Gravel Locos race on Saturday taking place in Hico, a small town 2 hours from Austin.
On Wednesday, her roommate came home and found Wilson unresponsive with "a lot of blood near her,” police said, on Maple Avenue near East 17th Street. Officers and EMS performed life-saving measures before she was declared deceased at 10:10 p.m.
The Travis County Medical Examiner's office conducted an autopsy and determined the official cause of death to be multiple gunshot wounds, and the manner of death was a homicide. It is being investigated as a suspicious death and as of Saturday, police said they have a person of interest.
Wilson, 25, recently had become a full-time biker after winning a slew of races in the past year.
This story was updated on May 15 to include that police have determined a person of interest.
