Austin FC took down the Houston Dynamo—including newly-minted Atletico Madrid star Hector Herrera—in a decisive 3-1 win at Q2 Stadium Tuesday night.
The club has secured four wins in a row, including three on the road, and leads the league with 41 goals. The Verde and Black once again sit at the top of the MLS West and will look to sweep their Texas Derby week with a win against FC Dallas Saturday.
Here's a look at the best moments of the match:
11' Houston strikes first
After a 3-0 showout in Atlanta, Austin seemed to take a step back in the first half of the Houston match. The Dynamo picked up on the slack as Adalberto Carrasquilla snuck an easy shot into the opposite corner of goal 11 minutes into the match.

Austin FC quickly found a way to equalize thanks to a quick drive and a yellow card on Houston's Teenage Adebe, which set up a free kick. With one swift shot, Diego Fagundez caught Houston keeper Steve Clark looking as he sailed the ball into the top right corner to tie it up by the 15th minute.

The Texas showdown was poised for a draw going into the second half. But even as international star Herrera was cheered into his second MLS match in the 46th minute, Austin FC managed to retake control of the match.
After two near-miss headers, Austin's Sebastian Driussi forced the ball into the visitor's box before passing it out to Maxi Urruti, who pulled a mirror-image on Houston with a shot to the opposite corner to take the lead.
In a true teamwork goal, Austin FC Captain Alex Ring then sealed the win as he headed in a cross from Ethan Finlay to finish the match 3-1.
A new look could be coming to a stretch of West Sixth Street as plans for a vertical mixed-use development move forward.
Current plans for the development aim to bring retail, office space and a hotel between 1110 and 1204 West Sixth St. Known as Clarksville, the redevelopment includes a courtyard and plaza with multiple five-story buildings surrounding the area.
This comes as the area sees increased activity—a recent report by the Downtown Austin Alliance noted total monthly visits on West Sixth St. in late 2021 surpassed pre-pandemic levels.
Earlier this week, the Austin Historic Landmark Commission heard an initial overview of the plans, as the project could possibly be in the Castle Hill and West Line historic districts.
The plan would also involve some demolition and reconstruction, though a number of current tenants could remain through that process, such as Woo Woo Burger, Swedish Hill and Wally Workman Gallery.
