Austin physicians and staff lined the halls of Ascension Seton Medical Center to celebrate the recovery and release of a COVID-19 patient in a "Code Sunshine" video posted this week on the hospital's Facebook page, bringing light to a tough time when hospitals are overrun with COVID-19 cases.

The patient was released last month from the Austin hospital after a battle with the illness, though no other details were released for privacy reasons.

"Code Sunshine" and the attendant celebratory videos have become ubiquitous in the national social media conversation about the pandemic, providing success stories among a rising death toll both in Texas and nationwide.
