(Andrea Guzmán)

Just when you thought it couldn't get any colder, temperatures will again drop to freezing later this week.

Thursday's 70-degree weather won't last long as a strong cold front moves in overnight with a 20% chance of rain. Temperatures are forecast at 44 degrees on Friday before dipping to 31 degrees at night. Additionally, it'll be a rainy start to the first weekend of South by Southwest with a 50% chance of rain Friday morning.

Winds could reach 40 mph in Austin and Central Texas on Friday.

A Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued for Central Texas due to the cold front on Friday by the National Weather Service. The outlook says the hard freeze Friday night could cause damage to sensitive plants.

The cold temperatures will last through the weekend but it will gradually warm up. On Saturday the high will be 59 with a low of 34, and on Sunday the high will be near 70 with a low of 47 before rising up to almost 80 degrees on Monday.
