Red River Cultural District is bringing back its free downtown music festival, Hot Summer Nights, with the announcement of its all-local lineup.

The three-night, multi-venue festival will take place from Thursday, Aug. 4 through Saturday, Aug. 6 and allow you to see over 100 established and up-and-coming locals free of charge.

This will be the festival’s fifth anniversary, which comes with special highlights: “Frikitona: Hot Summer Nights Edition” at Mala Vida, “Neon Rainbows: Hot Summer Nights Edition” at Cheer Up Charlies and a three-night takeover from Resound Presents at Empire and Mohawk.

Though performances are free, organizers said all of the artists are paid for their work. With tens of thousands of annual attendees, Hot Summer Nights is a complement to other free festival—Free Week—in January.

Some artist highlights include Billy King and the Bad Bad Bad, Chief Cleopatra, Como Las Movies, Mama Duke, p1nkstar, Primo the Alien, TC Superstar and Tony 22.

The shows will be held at the following venues:

    • Cheer Up Charlies
    • Chess Club
    • Elysium
    • Empire Control Room & Garage
    • Flamingo Cantina
    • Mala Vida
    • Mohawk
    • Stubb’s
    • Swan Dive
    • The Green Jay
    • Valhalla
