University of Texas linebacker Jake Ehlinger, the brother of former quarterback and recently NFL drafted Sam Ehlinger, was found dead Thursday, according to Austin police.

Details on his death have not been released, only that it was an unsuspicious death at the 1200 block of West 22nd Street. Police showed up at the scene that was off-campus at 12:18 p.m. Thursday.

Jake Ehlinger had been attending UT since 2019 when he joined the Longhorns football team, although he didn't play the last two seasons. His brother, two years older, was already playing there as the starting quarterback. Sam Ehlinger has since been picked up by the Indianapolis Colts.

Condolences and prayers flooded in from the community, and Sam was sent home from Indianapolis to be with his family.

In a game-seven-type move by Texas Democrats, the 87th Texas Legislative session was capped off by a last-minute walkout to avoid a final vote on a bill that would add restrictions to voting.
