Tropical depression Cristobal will deliver one thing to Austin: heat.


The storm struck the Louisiana coast over the weekend, and is expected to bring rain and flooding to the Mississippi Valley. Although Cristobal will miss Central Texas, the low-pressure system has sent hot air from West Texas and Mexico into Austin.

High temperatures reached 99 degrees yesterday, and are expected to go higher today—potentially up to 102. The record high is 101 in 2008.
