Tesla is stepping up its local recruiting efforts by interviewing high school seniors at Bastrop Independent School District.

It’s part of the manufacturing development program at Giga Texas. Previously, Tesla set up a partnership with Del Valle ISD.

What the program involves:

  • It’s open to those who are 18 by the start of September of the application year and are set for high school graduation in the spring
  • Tesla will pay for hires to attend Austin Community College for seven weeks of training and $17 an hour while in class
  • After completing their ACC certification, they’ll become full-time employees and earn $18.50 an hour

Tesla has at least 20 positions available for Bastrop students, KXAN reports. The company also has multiple other positions open at Giga Texas including manufacturing, finance and robotics.
