A woman and two children were shot and taken to the hospital on Wednesday night, according to Austin police.

The shooting took place in northwest Austin in the 4100 block of Balboa Lane near Dorsett Road. APD responded to the scene after receiving multiple calls around 8:50 p.m. from witnesses who reported hearing shots.`

When officers arrived at the scene three people—one woman and two children—were found with gunshot wounds and were transported to Dell Seton and Dell Children's Medical Center. All three victims, who APD say are related, have non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect, who is known to the victims and police, fled the scene in a vehicle, although no further details have been released. Police suspect it was a targeted incident.

Austin Police Department asks you report any tips on the investigation to Crime Stoppers at (512) 472-8477.
